hi I'm Jeff and I have been flying heli's for two or so years now I have never flown a plane the reason i did not get into plane's is because it's always windy where i live so i bought a three channel Coax that i started to get bored with in like two days so i striped it down to make it lighter stuck a nut on the tip much better lol but i still out grow it eventually so i got a four channel fixed pitch heli i had a really hard time getting adjusted to a four channel i kept putting it in to a wall when i wonted to rotate after adjusting to a four channel i got good with that so i bought a blade nano cpx well i have fun flying it i just keep crashing to much i try to do thing beyond my skills ( crashing is just good fun to :) ) and its costing me a fortune ( ever time i fly i brake something ) and i won't to get into plane's now. So i decided that i should go with the baby blender and i won't some advice on this as well so plezz do

i also would like it if you guys umm and girls could make sure that i have the parts that i need besides for a brain in my head and skill's witch know i do not have lol

and because its so windy all the time i was thinking a gyro might help me fly in wind but i don't know if it will work with
my receiver for sure and trust me there is a reason that they put the biggest wind farm this side of the Mississippi about 8 miles away its always windy lol

That is plenty of motor and everything else looks ok. You can save money with a different receiver (search for lemon dsm2) but the spektrum product will work great.

The Baby Blender may not be a great place to start learning airplanes, it's a great first 4channel plane though.

There are 2 ways to look at it...
1. it's made from foam board, if you crash one or two or 3 of them, no problem build another and learn from your mistakes,
2. The ft flyer may be a more forgiving thumb trainer, it's easier to build, cheaper to build and the dihedral gives it self-righting characteristics.

Now..the problem..you would want a smaller motor on the FT flyer and likely a smaller battery. That means buying 2 motors and 2 batteries at a minimum. Also, the servos are attached to the airframes..between the two planes, we are up to 5 servos.

So if budget is your problem, I say crash the blender until you learn how to fly and land it...If you can fly and land the blender well, you can fly just about anything. If your not as worried about budget, build the FT flyer first, learn to fly, then build the blender, you will spend more time flying rather than building!.

In one word: FT flyer! Very easy to fly. You won't need a gyro for that.
Your DX6i will last you a long time (as long as it doesn't stop working... which has happened to me).
Check the build videos to see what you need, and write it down as soon as Josh picks up anything he uses :).

Don't give up on helis though, they are a lot of fun! Practice in the simulator, do the hover trainings and you'll be good! The smaller stuff is more difficult to fly in the wind though, it's probably a lot easier to fly a 450 size heli or larger. But that's quite an investment, I know ;)

anyway I'm looking at it the same way you are there are two ways of doing this i think the first way is best for me
because I'm broke and i can buy a lot of foam board with a motor and a battery and two servo's besides i don't get discouraged like a lot of people and i secretly like crashing :)

ohh im not giving up on heli im just broadening my horizons ;) the simulator is a good idea i need to practice my inverted hover that's what i am doing when i crash, last time i flew i found a tree then a slab of cement bent the feathering spindle on that one and what really did it in was the crashing on a wire that went to a fiance and broke the tail this was just the last time i flew it lol the worst crash was when i had to replace the receiver in it when a smashed in to a slab of cement going like 20mph i probably should have gotten a new heli after that lol nano cpx is crazy durable but not indestructible!

Yup, that's the one! I don't know where you are, but if you're in the us, it takes a few weeks to get the boat here from china. If you need it quicker look into ebay and get a spektrum 6100e (just what you needed! More Options!) It's not meant to be a full range receiver, so keep it within a few hundred feet. I've pushed it out over 500ft and not had a problem, with the wrong wind, it could become an issue.

I won't try to dissuade you from learning on the baby blender, it sounds like a lot of fun. I would build a second blender while your building the first because there is no doubt blenders will be destroyed. Make sure to film it for us, should be good.
