I think I have a 1000 kv 2820 on my extreme flight extra, and the 2814 size might be more applicable to FT planes but I know I built a FT style hotliner with a 2820 1250kv. Bit too much power on 4s though with a 10x10 prop.
It can provide more static thrust but most models already have enough static thrust and climb capability. Its more or less about harnessing the power of the motor at a slower airspeed.
