Normally, I am a fan of buying quality components individually. I would expect a dedicated receiver to probably have better performance than an all-in-one. But there is a lot to be said for having a single unit that is monitor, receiver, and battery all in one. It's a lot easier to hang off your transmitter than a receiver, battery, and separate monitor.
