Carbon cub S+ mods

I would be interested to see anyones mods to one of these aircraft I have ordered a FT2218 and wil be upgrading to a 2200mah battery and larger ESC as a retired engineer I would be interested in airframe modifications I have a few ideas

I have the carbon cub S+ and fly it with 2200 mah batteries all the time with stock motor and esc. I set the timer to about 8 minutes and will have about 3.8 volts per cell left in the battery. That also allows me to miss a landing and have enough battery to come around again. The only mod I have done to mine is to pull the GPS. I had the champ S+ and had it fly away never to be seen again so the GPS was a concern.

thanks for reply did the bigger battery have any effect on cg I have also heard that the GPS can be a weak point

I run admiral 3s 35c 2200, they are 176g / 6.2oz.
And Thrust 3s 40c 2200, they are 192g / 6.8 oz.

I set either battery about 3/8 to 1/2 inch from the back of the battery compartment.

You made me go pull the wings off my carbon cub,, I have the same back wires and connector. They are not connected to anything

I also run without the GPS connected

Thank you, I guess that’s why I can’t find anything about it on the web. Do you suppose it an update port? At least know I can put it in a plain without worrying about what the cable is for

The cable is a programming cable for the factory.

For the GPS - remember you have to BIND the RX to your TX, THEN you can unplug the GPS.

Original question about a 2212 - too small of a motor.

Hmm... Mine has
1 - LemonRX 8 channel for 2x flaps and 2x ailerons
2 - "full wing" ailerons and half wing flaps
3 - EFlite BL15 motor and 40A ESC (4S) swinging an 11x6 prop
4 - LED's
5 - upgraded landing gear (from the Valient)

and enough dents and dings to make sure you know I fly it.
