cw and ccw propellers

Hello, I am planning on running 4s on my sea duck, so need new propellers. I noticed that flite test sells the "hq" props for cw and ccw. I'm in Canada, so I want to buy from somewhere else. I found APC 9x4.5 props, advertised for multirotors. I was just wondering if the props that FT sells are also for multi rotors, or if they are for airplanes. I haven't been able to find any cw propellers for airplanes. I know that multirotor and plane props are probably the exact same, but just want to make sure that te APC props will work.

I don't see why they wouldn't. If that's the size and pitch you are looking for. If your worried about the APC prop being a good prop or not, just look em up on Amazon or HobbyKing and scroll through the customer reviews. That's what I do when I question a products worthiness. The seaduck is a high wing so I doubt you have problems with durability.
Good luck with the duck, it's on my list of one days

Multirotor craft and fixed wing propellers are only approximately the same when comparing SF and high Kv props because fixed wing aircraft can travel at higher speeds and therefore there are porp designs which are not designed to be efficient at low airspeeds but really load up at high forward airspeed.

The wrong prop could give you a multirotor that has decreased ability to lift and even less flight time due to the sheer drag of the stalled portion of the prop blade supplying extra drag without extra lift possibly even leading to the overheating of the multirotor motors or even their failure.

I am thinking of using a multirotor prop on an airplane, not the other way around. I would buy an airplane specific prop, but there are none as far as I can see that are for counter rotating.

The APC props are 4 x lighter.... The flite test ones say to be about 45 grams (0.10 lbs), vs the 11 grams for the apc. I have a feeling that the apc will be a fair amount thinner.

CW spinning airplane props are usually called pusher props. APC appends a P to the size, I have some 9 x 6 EP (electric pusher) that I run on my explorer.

Thnks for the replies. Unfortunately, APC don't sell 9x4.5 ptops in pusher configuration, unless it's for a multirotor. I might try an 8x6 or something, but I'm not really looking to burn out esc's....

I just noticed that the flite test weight is probably for all 4 of them. The 10x4.5 that I got from them weighs 12 grams, so there is no way the 9x4.5 weighs 45. Theirs appear to be very thin aswell, so I might give the multirotor props a shot.

You can use either prop for a plane cw-ccw as long as they have the bushings. HobbyKing had cw props on sale in a size I use a lot of. They were 5 for .99 cents I purchased 30 of them and they fly just fine. You do get the prop torque to the left instead of the right from regular ccw props.
