D.I.Y long range FPV plane

Hi, I'm looking for a budget D.I.Y long rang FPV plane. Does anyone have some recommendations? Thanks in advance.

It all depends on what you consider long range. If it’s just a mile or two, then most any FT plane will work, something like the explorer or versa.

It becomes much more difficult to go further.

If you want something that can do long range, long flight time, and sub 250g, go with the Strix Nano Goblin.

You can easily get 45+ minutes cruise time on the standard 2S Li-Ion setup.

I even have ArduPilot and GPS in one of mine.

Do consider that per FAR 107 (I believe... don't have the rules in front of me right now.) flying beyond LOS is illegal. Just don't get caught by the FAA! Try and put the most efficient power system in that you can find, and keep it light. If you can belly land, save yourself some weight and drag and go without gear. It'll also make you more flexible in the event that you need to make an en-route emergency landing. Try to keep a suitable landing site within glide.
