Help! Building my first FPV plane

I don't know much about FPV, so I'm asking you guys.
I want to try flying a plane on FPV, like the mini scout or mini explorer.
Here is what I found so far could it work?
Monitor, camera and vtx.
I don't want goggles because I wear glasses, and so that I can more easily go from line of sight to FPV.
Thanks in advance for the replies.

When flying FPV using a monitor care has to be taken if you think you are going to change between flying FPV and line of site. FPV is so easy to get farther away then you realize very fast, if you look up from the monitor you may not be able to find your plane. Pay very close attention to the ground best might be find some ground markers to not go past before your flight and stick to those when flying FPV. At least to start.

I wear glasses and use box goggles not cool looking but they work for me, I am looking at getting regular goggles as more of them I can get a prescription lenses to fit, the ones I am looking at are the HDZero.

Cool! FPV is great! So the these goggles are quite roomy and I have seen reviews from people on YT and they said there is room for glasses in them. Also if you have a light prescription the lenses in the goggles slide back and forth to get a better focus so that might work for you. I know these goggles are out of stock but they have been restocking them pretty quickly! (I just bought the last one..........Sorry!) These are a great price and I have seen people say that they like them better than their $200 Fat sharks! What is your budget BTW?

Oh BTW the ones you get aren't the same as the ones in the picture...They are diversity ones and come with antennas! (Diversity is better.) They will also run of a 2-3s lipo with a xt -60 and there is also a plug for JST. You can also connect these to a TV too!

I started out flying FPV Quads, tricopters, etc.... , then added planes, and transitioned to being able to fly LOS after that. I had time in real planes, plenty o time flying Flight simulators, and first person gaming. (Descent if anyone remembers) When first staring out, make sure you have a spotter who can guide you back if you get turned around, and who could possibly take over control if your FPV gear has problems. A FC with Return To Home is not a bad idea. The OSD can guide you back with a direction to home arrow or flip the switch to have it return.

I prefer narrower angle camera lenses. The super wide angle lenses tend to have more fisheye, Give you less sense of speed, and less sense of distance. With time, you get used to any of them.

When using a monitor a screen shield can help with visibility outdoors. I usually have a screen set up for passengers in addition to my goggles. I have flown off the screen before, but prefer goggles. My buddy who flys FPV was actually flying Third Person View off my screen when I was following him. He eventually got disoriented to where we were and I had to guide him back while i was following him FPV. LOL

The gear you listed is OK, but not great for getting a taste of FPV.

Yeah I like goggles better too....When it is bright out it is hard to see the screen....Also with goggles you feel it much more.

A FC might be a bit expensive and complicated for just starting out. You can always add that on later if you start doing long range stuff.

I also have 50+ years playing with computers and electronics. This modern stuff is cake compared to the basic functionality back in the day. Serial ports are still serial ports just MUCH faster, just like the CPUs are faster, memory is HUGE compared to the 1k system I started with.
