Hi, long time watcher of the channel from UK.
Came from UAV side and recently into Fixed wing again.
Fedup of crashing £50-100 airframes (I like to rip hard and push the limits 😂)
So figured I'd give scratch build a go due to ease of repair and lower cost.
Bought depron as it's easily available and about the only readily available foam in the UK and Amazon's prime delivery FTW..still not cheap at £53 for 20x 1000mmx700m sheets. But cheaper than stock airframes from hobby king lol. Got lots of long sticks of hotglue, packing tape and a temp regulated fullsize hotglue gun with long nozzle and a steel ruler and cutting Matt, all under £100 so why not!
However I see it has no paper backing and this is needed for flightest plans and planes for like goods and score cuts?
Have I bought the wrong foam or can it be adapted it was recommended to me for the purpose lol.
Never haveing built from scratch I am also curious how to mount motors without plywood firewalls and also need suggestion for a first build.
I want to build something easy and simple but that can handle a wide flight evenlope from stable slowish flight Upto fast sport / mild acro flight and be FPV suitable.
What would you recommend I build?
