Help! EZ3 Kit - what are we doing wrong?

I bought the EZ BasiX Kit and we can only get the FT Freigjhter to fly (it's stuck in a tree some 30 ft up now though) so I hope you can help troubleshoot what's going on with the the others. I also orderd the EZ Nature pack too and we've built the Eagle and it does the same thing - as soon as we throw it the plane just spins out and hits the dirt. I bought sme EZ Power Add-On packs so we could have several planes available to fly. so yeah, they just spin out and crash. that's the EZ Eagle, EZ Plank and EZ VRT.

what have we done wrong? 🥴

edit - some backstory. our 10 year old grandson is spending a couple weeks with us so I bought a bunch of RC airplane stuff. EZ BasiX, EZ Nature, RealFlight Evo and RF Training (for him to take home) a Blade Inductrix...a bazillion 1S batteries for the EZ kits and a bunch for the Inductrix too. I want to spend time with RealFlight before we get into some other aircraft I have...UMX Night Vapor & Pitts and before I got those I bought a RadioMaster TX12 and T8-Lite. I just got the 4in1 module for the TX12 so we can fly the Inductrix since it was just the drone, no transmitter. thanks!

Your motors could be installed on the wrong wings, causing it to go left when it’s trying to go right, the props could be installed on the wrong motors, or your board could be installed the wrong orientation.

To check the motor position and board orientation, turn it on and give it minimal throttle. Both motors should spin up. Then point the nose quickly to the left. You should hear the left motor briefly spin up. Then point the nose quickly to the right and you’ll hear the right motor quickly spin up. If you hear the opposite motor spin up, then either your motors are reversed (wrong wings) or your board is installed in the wrong orientation. If that checks out, then do a quick thrust test. Hold it and increase the throttle to full. You should feel it pull forward and get a strong breeze on your face. If you feel a very small breeze from the back, then your props are probably installed upside down. If you feel it push slightly backwards, then your props are probably installed in the wrong wing.

we did do the testing, with moving left / right with the throttle up some as well as testing the differential thrust...but I don't think we listened with an attentive ear as to where the changing sounds were coming from. we heard them so just took it as meaning they were right.

if I understood the instructions in the videos correctly...the prop marked B is for the blue motor, which is on the right side and A is for the red motor, which is on the left. and for right / left orientation, it's the same as yours when the aircraft is pointing away from you. and in the case of the EZ Eagle, the props were 'tractor' oriented, so rather than using the pre-drilled holes to slide them onto the shaft, you pointed them dome side inwards and pushed until they popped on. creating their own hole to secure with.

for the ECS, the battery line is supposed to be facing foward which means the red LED is pointing down...so pretty sure we have that correct as that's the only way it can be oriented to match the battery and LED placement requirements.

Listen to which motor spins up. If it’s backwards or will cause it to spin to one side because if the plane starts going a little to the left, the gyro will try to compensate by pushing to the right. If the motors are backwards or if the gyro is backwards, it will push it harder to the left, and then it will try to correct it even harder by trying to push harder to the right. So if something is backwards, it will just go full hard to one side. Listen to it and see if it’s going in the right direction.

we are still very very confused. on the EZ Eagle, we swapped motor placements, reversed props, swapped props...it just spins out of control and crashes as soon as you let go. I re-watched the build video and the ECS is installed the correct way. for the Eagle, Josh said the props were supposed to be flipped and pushed on backwards, with the dome facing the motor...this is for both the props? and yes, the gyro tries to correct the plane when you wobble it lightly. I also felt the plane pushing / pulling to the right, which is the way it spins out. what could / would cause the motor to perform unbalanced like that?

I'm assuming I have done something wrong beause the EZ Plank and EZ Vee also spin out like this immediately and those two are pushers rather than pullers. is there a chance we got a batch of defective ECS or something?

Check to make sure both props are blowing tword the back of the plane.

If they are and it spins when you launch, swicth the two motor connectors on the FC.

heh...I just disassembled the EZ Eagle....but I'll pull out the EZ Vee and let you see how it's setup in a short bit.

Following @LitterBug's post: When you post your pics, take of the control board and it's orientation, and the motors from directly above, if possible.

Is the flight controller mounted upside down? The led should be facing down, not up.
Prop A is on the right with the blue motor with white connection which is hooked to FC in the front port.

I had a similar problem with a FX 620 based plane. It would turn left and crash. Finally I realized I had swapped motor sides.
Reinstalled and it worked fine.

Of course your case is different, but what I did to troubleshoot the problem was : glide tests.
If the plane glides straight, with some trim adjustments, then the airframe is not the problem.

You could try reversing the motors and mounting receiver horizontally, vertically or upside down, and try combination of receiver orientation
and left/right motor swaps.

How about taxiing? Most of these twin motor control planes can be steered on the ground pretty well.

You could also post a video.

they glide just fine and double checking the props and motor placements were the first thing I checked and they were correct. the receiver is installed correctly too...still need to take some photo's, just been crazy busy and the grandkid has gone back home.
