Started building the rcFoamFighters FF-15. However instead of the 45 degree bevel cuts (which I can never do right anyway) I am using A and B fold techniques. Also chopped off the tabs which will make cutting faster. I will send updates as I go along. plans.JPG cut out 1.JPG A fold setup.JPG pan fold.JPG

wings, fins and elevon

OK, now got the wing, fins and battery compartment. However a change in plans: the servo setup. Instead of aileron and elevator servos, I am going to use the aileron locations for the servos, but set them up as elevons and tie the ailerons and elevons on each side to the respective servo. Elevator will be split to convert to elevon...

Fuselage all cut out. I removed the paper covering only on the nose section to hopefully shape the nose into a conical form. Should be finished and ready to glue up in the next day or three (there is an upcoming holiday ;))

Delayed by the holidays but back at it now.

Tried some painting techniques I saw of FT videos on the fins. I primed and then painted the with a metalic finish paint. I like it!

The nose came out better than expected. Time for electronics now.... Nose shape.JPG plane with fins.JPG

Last update on this thread. Plane done and she is zippy (final pictures are in an album). One last thing I will do is take a short video of how she flies.

Not bad for a bank and yank plane. Climbs fast, spins even faster.
