So I looked at the calendar this morning and sorta said "Oh frik! Flitefest is only a couple of months. I better step on it, planning wise!"

Apparently, way too late. Any ideas on what to do, given that there was no camping available, only "wait list" which didn't seem encouraging when one needs to buy airline tickets.

There is a large portion of the venue site currently for sale (you can find the listing easily) so they aren't using that area for camping. My understanding is that if it doesn't sell by a certain date, they will open it up and sites will become available. I do not know what the date is. I think we should crowdfund the purchase and give it to FT.

You could ping people who have a space and share a site...

Some of us are solo without family at the event and tent sites are pretty large.

Rv sites are generous also, especially those of us with simple class B vans. I'll have room to spare at my site, just not sure how to parse it out fairly.

For me, the problem becomes if they wait until the last minute, I can't get plane tickets.

Well, my general plan, if you can call it that, lol is to fly into Akron and rent a small SUV like I did two years ago for FF23. Then I just sleep inside of that. No fuss, no pitching a tent or having to bring one on the airplane. That way I was able to devote 100% of my suitcase space to clothes and the airplane & equipment I was bringing.

Well, luck of the draw is fair enough, I suppose. You're welcome to park and sleep at my site if you want. It's right on the flightline, so there will be nightflyer noise, but I'm rather fond of that. I have plenty tools and chargers too, so no need to pack those things.

I would gratefully accept your invitation! Particularly since TSA gets all weird and squirmy when you bring too many tools in your carry-on. They act like you're gonna disassemble the airplane in mid-flight. Even if you explain that they're for building airplanes when you arrive!

Okay, thank you to Everyone. I now must redouble my efforts on:
1. Airplane(s) that travel well and
2. My air-to-air missile project for Combat. :devilish:
3. Oh, and getting some airline tickets!
