Landing gear is mounted, motor pod is in for a dry fit but the more I look at it the more I don't like so I think I have a better plan that is simpler and keeps the space I had under the hatch. As soon as my phone charges I'll post the hatch build pics I have and notes.

Hope U get a flight video. I have a feeling it gonna look mighty purdy in the air.

I have revised the motor pod. Getting ready to set that in place so that I can glue all these other pieces in place, when I start putting vinyl on you know that I am close to the end. LOL . Got my morning tea with me and going to get this together in next 2 hours I figure as I have a very good window to maiden this and a couple others today, YAYYYY!!! Finally the wind gods have answered my prayers:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

So for the "power pod" , I ended up scaling the FT mini power pod up to scale the size of the swappable power pod firewall, glued it up and taped it and then cut away the stuff you see in the photo. I then put a brace at the backside of that front former that was 1 inch high less the width of a piece of foamboard (I know great way to measure things LOL) And then installed a piece on top of that that was 1.25 inches wide and the length from the brace I installed to the fold on the cowl former at the very front putting a 45 degree bevel at the front edge to match the angle where that fold is. After getting the motor pod in place I reinforced as many points as I could with glue. Note the motor is slightly to the left to allow for the motor shaft to come through the center of the front former to compensate for the right thrust angle. In hindsight guys the front cowl former needs to be adjusted to allow more room for the motor. I just got that Surpass C2216 1120 Kv motor in there, not a lot of wiggle room there. The rest of the pics show where I am placing my fuse servos, I will leave it to you guys to decide where to position ypurs. My first thought was that I wanted to mount them further back on the sides of the fuse. Landing gear is done same style as FT Simple Cub gear, gear sandwiched between a C-fold and then slotted in place and glued, simple but it works. Basically I have 3 servos to install. 2 skewers for the wings and a piece to transition from the top of the canopy to the wing which will be attached to the wing, Wind is slowly coming down out there, gusting 26 km/h right now which is about half of what it was earlier . Got batteries charging , fingers crossed. And the weight the scale shows is less just the battery and three servos so I'm pretty happy with that, could have peeled some paper and got it down a bit more but I can live with that.

Might get lucky and get to maiden today. I need to do the front hatch stuff, get the ailerons hooked up, and get the rudder hooked up, and we should be good.

BTW you can fit a 3530 in there.

Oh, and how I did my power pod, a front half of a full sized FT power pod no tabs with mount, then made some bracing for the bottom to support the pod (it was about 3/4 of an inch).

I cut reliefs for the wires and esc and it lined up perfect. ESC mounds underneath, plenty of room for a 2200 mah.

Nice , I like how you were able
I know someone who would want to build this.
Plans will be going up in the next day or two

when the plans come out do you think it would fly with a 2212 1000kv motor? i feel like it would be a little underpowered.
It would! mine had a ton of power with at 2216 1300kv motor, I flew on 30% throttle and it had enough power for vertical, I was also able to hover it for a second or 10.

I am not done, but it feels pretty light and I bet it would be ok with one. I think those B Pack motors are a good balance between efficiency, weight, and thrust. Heck, if one would fly my Model A coming in at about 700g, I am sure it wouldn't struggle with this light of a plane.

I actually considered putting a B pack in it. But the 1100kv D3530 with a 1047 prop should be nice and torquey.

Wingspan.
Mine is 46"

Mine could technically be maidened now, but I am not going to be able to make it out. My hatch isn't quite done yet.

My hatch isn't all the way ready.

In hindsight, I should have cut the back of mine down, or out like ratcheroo did. I ended up cutting the formers to clear the pod, and they malformed. I should have at least not cut the formers until after the skin was over the formers. Oh well.

I'll just take my time and get my flaperons set up, and make it look nice and pretty for the maiden.
