FT MS ME-262

I haven't seen much on the forums for the FliteTest Master Series Me-262, so I'm starting this thread to share build photos and any tricky spots I come across. I've built many other Master Series planes before, but this is my first jet as well as the my first build with new symbol mapping system. It is going to be powered by two Powerfun 70mm EDFs, a 5000mAh 4S battery with FT 17g metal gear servos. I'm not going to put any landing gear on, having seen a cool launch dolly on another thread that will preserve the Schwalbe's clean lines in the air. While there's a decent build log over at the FT Store, maybe these additional photos can be helpful to folks.

This will go together like all master series planes. You will build a tail, build the nose, bridge the two parts together with center piece. After that, add wings, canopy and nacelles. There are examples and "how tos" in the basics and beyond playlist in flite test tech. It breaks down all the symbols and shows all the things needed for best fit and finish. LMK if you have any questions.

Too late, I'm realizing this kit is really set up for differential thrust without a rudder. Not knowing much about edfs... do they work for differential thrust even if one isn't "counter-rotating?"

I'm guessing I could also rig up a rudder if needed. It seems too big to fly it as a yank-and-bank.
Differential should work the same

THANK YOU for taking the time to do this!
While I appreciate the time it takes to produce a build video, I do say I miss them... A lot.

Good luck on the maiden and keep us posted!

You wint have to worry about them being counter rotating if running differential. Bank and yank works good too :)

Looks like you are doing an awesome job!

Great work so far! I was very tempted by the 262 kit while at Flitefest but I ended up passing since I didn’t have a good way of getting it home as I was flying. You’re making me want to order the kit now though! 🤦‍♂️😂

Painted today. I like the stickers included in the kit; it saves a little $$$ from having to order decals from Callie. Lots of other extra in the kit as well (extra pushrods, control horns, plastic firewalls, etc).

As usual, its an Overstreet masterpiece. I didn't deviate much from the plans except to add a few magnets to the battery hatch instead of the skewers called for in the plans.

I'm a little worried about the wing attachment, as it was hot today when I was painting and the glue loosened up a bit. Its a really big wing. Strong enough bond? Only one way to find out, right?

Once my little launch cart shows up from Walmart (hat tip to CappyAmeric) I'll take it up and see what she can do.

Thanks, FliteTest.
