Good looking build! You have me wanting a racer again.

I've had the occasional servo fail on me. When they go bad I remove the horn and cut off the wire.

I was also short an extension or two and what I did was solder the cut off servo wire onto the end of a good servo lead, this gave me a (permanent) extension.

2830/11 1000kv motor, going to team it up with a 9x6 APC prop. On 4S it should have about 1.8 power to weight and 1.1 on 3S

Wake up! Time to fly!
I've got servo wire but it's an absolute pain crimping in the pins and fitting them in the plugs.
Will be here during the week so if the weather permits I'll try and maiden it next weekend.

No crimping involved kiddo. Open the servo.. unsolder the current wire and connector. Solder on your roll of wire, measure your perfect length and splice original wire to that.

Offset your splices so the joints dont become one big lump and can never short out even if shrink tube or tape goes bad over time.

That build looks awesome, I have to get myself a racer too.

That's a great tip. Thanks.

@PsyBorg Hmmmm, every time I have attempted to open a servo my clumsy hands ends up making a mess of it :ROFLMAO:
@mayan Thank you! I mucked up the nose a little by getting my A and B folds mixed up but the posterboard decking should 'hide the crimes' ;). Good luck on the maiden of the Scout.

Yes, 1.1 is the update I posted last month. How did they work? Any issues?

So do I!!! I will sometimes actually drive to LHS and pay twice as much to get the part fast and get in the air. I really need to work on my patience.

The Leeds Model Shop is super for building materials including proper Flite Test foam but the more specialised quad stuff like a 20mm 35A F4 stack with integrated video transmitter and the latest Caddex Turtle HD cameras with video recording - they do not have at all. A shop that is still very strongly into Spectrum, Graupner and the big fuel planes. A very friendly place though and willing to explain stuff!

Got the 9x6 prop in yesterday plus a spare ;) - ran a motor test using 4S which was at storage charge - 273W of power....this plane will tear up the sky!!!!
