FT versa motor

hello everyone!

well i have done my first build and she looks great!
but i have an issue.
i was hoping to use the stock motor from my parkzone spitfire (R.I.P) and the 30amp speed controller. but after fitting it the CG is well aft, i've only sat the batteries on the top to see how it weighs but with two 2200ma 3s's and the ESC it's still aft.
I could add some weight at the nose to fix that, though i'd rather it was batteries!
But now im thinking it's getting to be quite heavy maybe too heavy for the motor :/
i have an eflite power 25, 1250kv sitting around but thats around the same weight.

ha also, maybe stupidly, I've covered the versa in duct tape head to toe, do you think thats added too much weight?

all thoughts and opinions welcomed :)

also great show btw :)

This worked for me

I had the same problem with my versa build. I used a motor that was 102g(heavy), and then glued it to the back of my versa wing. Is yours a pusher? My solution was to put the batteries as far forward as possible, then figure out how far forward I needed to mount the motor. Then I cut a giant hole in the middle of my plane. :) Not the prettiest thing, but it flies very well.

If you get the CG in the right spot, I bet it flies. Good luck.
