Guillows Bird Dog!

Thanks go to TooJung2Die for the covering idea, I'm still a bit confused on it, but sure plan to try it.
I've used the document laminating film on a couple of airplanes and I really like it. Covering with heat shrink film is my weakest skill and I find document laminating film easy to put on. It is very light weight and won't warp delicate balsa frames designed for tissue covering. It shrinks better than some other covering films I have used. I haven't gone as far as covering the film with doped tissue. Seems like a lot of trouble. I airbrush on a couple of light coats of acrylic paint. But if you insist on the look of tissue that is the way to go.

I like that technique quite a bit. The build is slowing because I don't have much time for it with school and flying weather coming back. I just finished a Great Planes RV-4 that made lots of workbench space. It sounds like that space will get filled by a 92" A-20 Havoc. I haven't lost interest in the build, and can't wait to do more on it!
I'm looking forward to hear more about the 92" A-20 Havoc. I like that one :)

Thanks. Sometime next year probably it will happen. I started my sig kobra but then I was just gifted a great planes ultimate to build so it will be a while. But the havoc will be a fun one.

I'm glad you haven't abandoned this airplane. I hope to see it fly. I also hope for some decent weather so I can fly the Guillow's SE5a. It's been really bad weather ever since I finished it.

Got most of a wing done and I am done with the elevator. I don't have any pictures of my control surface though. Also I found in my kit stash a guillows stearman for my next small build. Also, I am switching to a brushless motor that can fit in the plane!
