Hobby King Buddy Codes

Rotor Riot!
It's a way to get discounts on some products. Consists of two parts:

First, person A buys something - say a DT-750 motor. When the order is paid, user A signs in, goes to his account, and click's on the "CHECK" button just under their name.

Andre Elb (colorex)
Customer Type: Platinum Member
Orders: 14 CHECK
Your Wish List has 9 items
Account settings & tools
Warranty Codes

Then click on the latest order's VIEW button (to the left).

International (Registered) Air Mail 0 - 100g $3.99

Taxes

To the right of where it says RESERVED, a blue icon will show up, indicating that a buddycode is available. clicking on it will bring up a window with a long link that looks like this:

Person A can post this link to a forum, or to a website like RC International, so person B can use it to get the same product a bit cheaper.

Person B has to login before using a buddycode. Log in, and click on the buddy code link. the item page will appear, and if the buddy code is valid still (eg. hasn't been used more than three times), then the price will show up lower, and with a * sign indicating a discount.

When you click "Add to cart" the item will be added at the discounted price. When Person B buys a product with a buddy code (reduced price) then the blue buddy code icon will not show up in their order like Person A.

Two months ago were the glorious days when you could use as many buddycode products as you wanted. But now orders are limited to 2 buddycodes.

Several items have substantial price reductions ($5 on Turnigy Basic 25Amp ESC's for example), so it's worth the hassle.

So what's the catch for person A? When someone purchases an item with the buddy code, Person A receives a small amount of cash back into his account as store credit available for use in the next purchase. Discount for both A and B.

Sorry for the short explanation.

No one has used this in a while but I just placed another order so I thought I would share.

Turnigy Plush 25amp ESC (US warehouse) $1.84 discount

Turnigy Plush 40amp ESC (US warehouse) $4.04 discount

Turnigy ESC programmer *For the above ESCs (US Warehouse) $3.02 dicount which is about half price

From the looks of it keeping this thread going and coming to it first could save a ton of cash for all involved.
