Hi all, I was being really careful with my hxt 1300kv motor, and I found this weird wire that didn't look like it was soldered to anything. All of the three colored wires are still soldered to the stator. it is connected to what looks like a phase of the motor, but it doesn't look like it broke off of anything. What is this wire? 2014-11-23 09.24.09.jpg

Thanks,
Spence

The fourth wire is the center of the motor windings -- this motor is wound in a"Y" or "Wye" configuration:

Each of the main legs are connected to the wires you plug into the ESC and the center junction is all soldered together and heat shrinked as your mysterious fourth wire.

So, my motor isn't broken? That wire is either a ground or the center of the motor windings as you said?

Nope. It's fine! It's just the way Dan said and I also have a few wired that way. They work fine just left alone, as they are intended.
