magic smoke from flight controller but still works

so earlier today i was checking voltage on my flight controller with the battery connected and the two pins touched and a bunch of smoke poofed out of the flight controller. i thought it was ruined but when i powered it on everything worked fine, and it still flys and still hooks up to betaflight. Im not sure if this flight controller is reliable enough for me to keep using it, or if i should get a whole new flight controller.

At a minimum, I would order another so when this one bites the dust you are good to go.
