Well, it's not exactly mine..... I am trying to find a parts list for a young flyer who wants to video my brother and I as we fly our warbirds and want to do some freestyle ect. I am trying to find all the stuff for as budget as possible (under $200 for sure with the VTX, camera, transmitter and antennas). Am I right in thinking a FC with a gyro can be switched to stabilize mode if you program it to a switch in Betaflight? Is there a good budget transmitter that you suggest that will support express ELRS? I am not looking for a whole list of parts (except ones that I ask for advice on, for example the transmitter) I will continue asking advice on different components as I move on. I also need to know what size would be the best for her, should she do 3.5" or would 5" be better? I think 7" puts it out of her budget. Thanks in advance!

I don’t know much about quads, but I think 5” would be best, wind shouldn’t be a problem like it would with 3.5”

Yeah, I think she would like not having to be limited with the wind a lot. I was already thinking 5" because there seems to be a lot more budget parts for them.

Particularly for a younger person, have you considered a smaller drone such as a Mobula 7 or 8? A 7 can fly outside pretty well but also fly inside. An 8 would fly better outside.

I suggest this because the smaller whoops are nearly indestructible and less dangerous. 5” drones can hurt you bad and will break hard too. A mobula is ducted and very lightweight, so they’re pretty safe and don’t break easily. Also, you can get into it a lot cheaper.

I plan on limiting the throws in betaflight until she gets better. I don't think she would like the idea of totally getting a different one when she wants to upgrade.
