Hello,

I´m planning to build my first RC Plane and wanted to ask you guys for help.
I want to build the "Versa Wing" Design from Flite Test with the following parts:

Transmitter: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-...___store=en_us

Charger: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-...___store=en_us

Batteries: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/zippy-co...___store=en_us
https://hobbyking.com/en_us/zippy-co...lipo-pack.html

ESC: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/blheli-s...___store=en_us

Servo: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/brass-li...___store=en_us
https://hobbyking.com/en_us/1-meter-...___store=en_us
(I already have servos)

Props: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hobbykin...___store=en_us

Motor: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/be1806p-...n-nut-ccw.html

Foam: https://www.graupner.de/Flite-Test-F...Stueck/FT4001/
(From a german seller because it´s cheaper to ship)

Is that everything I need to build a plane / Is it compatible?

Thank you for helping me!

Tx, Rx and charger look good. The batteries you chose are a little large, I wouldn't go bigger than 2200 3S, or 1800 4S. The ESC you chose is underrated for 4S, I would go with a 30A. It also doesn't have a BEC which you need to power your servos and Rx. The motor and prop combo is small, FT recommends the power pack C for this model, check out the product pages for the versa and the power pack to get something similar from HK.

Welcome to the forum, and good luck with the build :)

I think this setup should be powerfull enough or am I missing sth. here?

I will be more than powerful enough - in fact I think you might have overdone it on the motor and ESC which are pretty big. The motor is about twice the weight of the C-pack motor and is probably best paired with a larger diameter prop.

Look here to see the specs for the C-pack motor to get a feel for what equivalent motor you can get from HK.

For most of my straight up FT builds I use NTM 2826 1200kv motor from HK and it seems to do the trick and can handle the 10 x 4.5 props on 3S (although the sweet spot seems to be 9x6).. For 4S you would need to drop down to and 8x6 with this motor. I would pair it with this 30A ESC.

Sorry - quick correction on the motor recommendation - I noticed that the link I posted takes you to the long shaft version. Instead I recommend this short shaft version and get the accessory pack for mounting the motor to the firewall and the prop to the motor.

You can use the long shaft version but you still need the accessory pack to mount the motor and the long shaft will stick through the firewall which is a pain (ask me how I know). Or you could attach the prop using a regular compression type prop adapter to the long shaft but then the whole barrel of the motor needs to be mounted inside the power pod which would be even more trouble.

One other thing to watch for when ordering from HK is where the components are coming from. From the links you posted some are from Global and some are from USA depots - this is not a problem but they will split the order and you'll be paying two shipping charges.
