New with FT Tenet

I purchased two FT Tenets a couple of years ago but after a few failed starts I'm getting around to seeing this build through (with my daughter). I've not built a plane before and the marketing of extra educational materials attracted me. Thankfully the plane is simple to build because I've found the playlist to be confusing and lacking in a lot of ways. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of good content there. But I don't think it's straight forward enough or focused enough to take a bonehead and his 6 y.o from start to finish. Could anyone point me to how to mount wings to the top of the plane? It feels like a major missed step. What do I need to be careful of when doing that? Does it matter if they're mounted further forward or back on the body? I'm new and there are so many forums I didn't know where this should go.

Thanks!

I haven't built a Tenent, but I may be able to shed some light for you.
The wings strap on with rubber bands. You'll need to poke some BBQ skewers through the fuselage to secure them to. I couldn't find anywhere in the build videos that calls this out specifically, but you can see it in the "Final Hook Up" video around the 5:20 minute mark.
If you're building the pusher configuration, the wings all have a cutout that nestles in around the motor mount which will set the wing's location. This also seems to be glossed-over in the videos.

If the wing is too far forward or too far back, it won't matter much, as long as it's still mounted on the flat portion of the fuselage and isn't skewed side-to-side. The most important thing is that the center of gravity (CG) is correct. Balance it on the CG marks and you should be good.

Thank you for your reply!

I was able to see the skewers like you mentioned. I wish I felt better about randomly chosing a place to poke it though. So many other instructions are well explained. Is it in the upper part where the pusher motor is?

I couldn't find mention of a center of gravity or what the mark looks like. The pusher pieces have a line on top of them. The other pieces don't. Not sure if this is related.
The wing has two small circular holes that face the plane body but also not sure if that's related to center of gravity marks.

The multi configuration makes the tutorials all the more muddied. I wanted to build it without power first and go through each iteration. I'm thinking the Tenet wasn't actually a good first plane.

Thanks.

Yes, skewers go into the upper part where the pusher motor is. If you eyeball where they are in the video relative to the wing and get them somewhere close, they should work well enough. I wish I had some measurements for you to be more exact. The best I can find is a picture from another thread on this forum to use as a reference.

The two small holes in the wing are most likely the CG marks. That's pretty standard in FT kits.
I'm not sure what the line you're seeing on the pusher pieces is. Like I said before, I haven't built one personally. Hopefully some others who have can chime in here.
It seems they released the Tenet V2, which isn't modular, to save some of the confusion you're running into. That said, part of the hobby is learning by experimentation, and another part is a community who can help you problem-solve if you get stumped. We'll get you in the air one way or another.
