P-38 group build!

I built one but my motors were so weak that it was hard to gain altitude and when I did my elevator servo gave out and down she came. It might have been my favorite build that or the edge540 super rewarding

I was thinking I would really enjoy the A-10 build, and it sounds like I was right because the edge is my favorite build so far. As you said, super rewarding. When I get the rimfire motor for my swappable planes, then I may build an A-10 with the two c pack motors that I'm using right now. What motors were you using @mach1 rc ?

I was using 2212 1000kv motors on 3s. If you run 4s it should have enough power

So those are b pack equivalent motors, right? Do you think I can run my b pack on 4s with the 20 amp esc’s included?

I was not meaning specifically for the A-10. These will be going into my P-38.

BTW, I got some more parts on foam board and partly cut out. It's slow going but I can't wait to build it!

Ok, great. I'll try it on 4s first I think.

Ok, so I got the P-38 finally all cut out! It was definitely intense, and my hands were sore at the end... So a Christmas eve/day build I'm thinking. I got the wooden parts cut out of basswood and I epoxied the tips of the control horns to give extra strength.

Way to accomplish a big step! Looking forward to reading about your build and seeing the plane. I’ve been lurking on this thread, downloading p-38 plans and wondering if I want to ride the Lightning too.

thanks! Well it’s definitly an undertaking, but a great expierence imo. I can tell I improved. At cutting parts out more precise.

You could but you would have to prop down, start small and work your way up watching amp draw and temp of the motor.

REALLY nice - but $65.00 for just a Motor is something that I may never be able to do...
