Glad I came and checked this thread. Just finishing mine and it is also very tail heavy but under weight, so I'll throw a bunch of lead into the nose. I thought I did something wrong.

Nope they are always just tail heavy on my next one I am going to make the battery compartment bigger so I can take advantage of that with a bigger battery and then longer flite time.

I added a few ounces at the firewall and got it to neutral or maybe very slightly tail heavy with a 2200mah 3S pushed all the way to the front. Flew nicely, didn't even need trimming. For anyone else building one, I used a DYS 2836 1100kv motor, 40A ESC, and a 9x6 prop which I'll probably swap out for a 10x5.

All done! Or sure if I’m gonna stick with that faux engine, but it works for now, decided to run a 2212 1450kv turning motor
I love this plane! I was taxi testing it in some 4 1/2” grass, and it just took off! I will say though, it has started to paint itself green.😂

I think this plane might be a good STOL candidate!

Gave it a true maiden today! Needs more downthrust, but I solved that by flying 9mph.😜. Can fly slower than a mini consendo. And the Super Light storch, one problem (at least in my eyes😉). It didn’t have enough aileron authority to do a full roll, no matter how I tried, It’d be heading for the ground before it did a full roll. But I love this plane. Probably gonna enter it into the 2025 STOL challenge.

They are fantastic planes, mine got so beat up after a wile and still flew great! It got turned into an N3N seaplane for a bit when we were taking a real one off from lake erie this past summer.

I would like to make another one but slightly diferently. I want to size it for a xl power pack and make it have 2 ailerons ( like an N3N which is pretty much just a full aluminum stearman) and make a detachable mono float for it!

I will say biplanes suck to paint it is very hard to do yellow wings and a blue fuselash without getting paint runs
