Just thought Id share a way I use to remove the paper from the very heavy foamboard we get here, as removing the paper makes a massive difference to its weight & is well worth it.
An A1 sheet (840x594mm of type below) weighs about 290g with paper on after paper removed weighs 115g & the foam quality is excellent.
The only way Ive found that works is to soak it with metho, three or four coats with a brush (small paint roller probably quicker), make sure it soaks right through the paper to break down the glue, leave it a while & you can peel paper off from A1 sheet in one piece no problem.
Not sure if it works with all brands of foamboard, but works well with this stuff Ive been getting, 'Canson Foamcore' its under $7.00 for A1 sheet from here
