I've been following the show and the forums for quite a while now and decided to share something with you that I've been working on lately.
I love the spirit of FliteTest of encouraging people to build things from scratch and help them get into the DIY world.
Following this path, I've been working on an RC transmitter mod using the Arduino platform. The idea of this project is to start with simple (and thus, cheap) off-the-shelf transmitters and expand them into versatile, all-programmable units.
Programming of the mixers is done using a smartphone with a simple App.
Right now, this is working with a Spektrum DX4 transmitter and has been successfully tested with gliders and CP helis.
