Spektrum Receiver?

Can anyone tell me what this is? That little piece in the red circle...all i can come up with is that it receives on a different frequency or something...anyone know?

Same frequency.
It's called a satellite receiver,
What it does is allow you to locate the satellite in a location away from the main receiver.
This can be helpful especially in larger planes where parts of the plane may block your signal, hopefully the satellite will be in a place where it's signal is not blocked.

gotcha. So unnecessary for close, small planes? I guess you might want one set of antennas perpendicular to the others...cool, thanks.
