Quick update... I haven't had much time last weekend and this week to get any work done on projects, and it's been crazy hot in my garage which definitely isn't a motivator. However, I did finally do a quick test mount with the motor outboard, the gopro seated in it's case and in place, with a battery in the middle of the bay... coming in just a tad nose heavy (maybe a half inch nose heavy), and still will have the weight of the ESC, vtx, rx, elevons and winglets to counter balance it out... definitely going to run the motor outboard 
If I end up nose heavy, that works out better as well... because (doubt I'll have to do this but) if I need to add weight to gain the correct CoG, I can simply add some steel shot into the coroplast of the winglets to taste. Definitely feeling a bit more confident about gear placement now.
