BTW, don't mess with UART1 ever. It's your USB port, if you disable MSP on that you disable the USB port.

As I suspected, very old firmware with the current configurator. 2 options, either get an older version of the configurator, or flash a newer firmware. Personally, I'd upgrade the firmware to 3.5.7 There are many videos on youtube to walk you through the process. First step is to back up your current settings. In the CLI tab enter the diff command, then click the save to file button on the bottom right of the window. This will give you info you might need to setup the new version.

Hello again,
I have tried many times now to flash the new firmware, but 9/10 times it gets stuck on this and doesn't actually do anything.

After unplugging the drone and restarting betaflight a bunch of times, once in a while it will say "executing" or something like that and it will start flashing it. However about halfway through every time, it says "verifying" and it then says this.

What should I do? I've gotten to the point where it says "flashing" 3 times now and each time it says STM32 - timed out, programming: FAILED. Thanks for the help!

I've also tried setting the baud rate manually to 256000 because that's what a page I looked at suggested, but that didn't work either.

Thanks, but I actually watched a video and tried this earlier today and every time I launched it, it just kept saying searching for flight controller, it couldn't find it. Do you know why this is?

Wake up! Time to fly!
Looks like the configurator version is newest at 10.7. SPF3 is F3 flight controller so no support after 10.4 configurator if I remember correctly.

The configurator will let you change pids and rates n such but wont be able to flash with the mismatched set up.

Okay, would it be best to get the configurator 10.4? Would the newest firmware version for SPF3 work with 10.4?

I went ahead and am using 10.4.1 and I got the same result, should I try 10.4 or is 10.4.1 basically the same thing?

I just tried 10.4.0 and it worked, but how can I now load the file I saved with the diff command? Thanks for all the help guys!

Okay so I reflashed the firmware and loaded in all the params (i pasted in the params in the CLI) but I still don't seem to be getting any response from the receiver. In the top left of Betaflight is says "Arming Disabled" and when I go into CLI this happens.

As I mentioned earlier, I think you'll get the best result with 3.5.7. Also, make sure you do a full chip erase when you flash.
