Start by calibrating or recalibrating the esc. to calibrate the ESC:
  1. Remove your prop
  2. turn the Xmitter on
  3. bring the left stick to full throttle
  4. plug the battery into the ESC
  5. wait for the beep
  6. lower the left stick to minimum throttle
  7. wait for the beeps
Done

Just be aware that some ESCs "auto calibrate". In this case the ESC will adjust automatically to the throttle stick min and max. There will still be a slight gap between off and the motor starting. With this sort of ESC the manual calibrating process will make no difference.
