But there is also a screen to show each cell voltage during a charge. If you're not to have the balance lead in while charging, then why the cell voltage screen?

Two different functions

Lipo charge- no need to plug in the balance lead. The charger will display the individual cell voltages if the balance plug is plugged in but the charger will not be balancing the cells.

Lipo balance- the balance lead MUST be plugged in. The charger will display the individual cell voltages and will charge and balance the cells.

I had problems with the same charger....turns out the power supply i was using only gave out 300mah i changed that for one that was giving out 14 volts and 2 amps and it has been a sweetheart ever since
