Thanks Arman!

Looks like I'll have to save up some more if I want a better system... But it seems like it's worth it!

What is the simplest (cheapest) combination of the above? Is it not good enough to start with if it is as simple as camera-VTx-VRx-monitor?

Is this camera compatible with the above VTx?

I think that you can leave out the vee-antenna which is more for long range flights but I saw that you are not interested in long flights. I suggest that you go with camera VTx-8 dbi Patch antenna-VRx-monitor

!!!The patch antenna is optimized for 1280Mhz so make sure that your VTx and your VRx are both on 1280 or you wont get good signal!!!

I will also try making cloverleaf antennas - They seem to be worth the effort.

Just found this article, I love his clean setup! But is there a reason one would pay more for 5.8GHz? Higher resolution transmission maybe?

My friend has 5.8 GHz and I have 1.2 GHz tested on the same screen same camera. He saw no difference. The type of camera will make the difference. The difference will be only seen on huge tv's. Don't worry about that.

In a nutshell

cloverleaf is usefull when you are going to bank allot with your planes.

vee antenna is for long range/medium range flights.
