Hey everybody.

So in the ~20 years I've been in this hobby I've never owned a decent "trainer" plane. I'd like something to be able to buddy-box folks on at the local club field and I've decided that it'll be a big ol' 1:7 scale Storch. Specifically an N-AC Norwegian trainer Storch.

Construction techniques will be similar to my previous large projects in that I'll be building mostly from wood and foamboard, covering in craft paper, and painting with an airbrush. Here's a photo of the Sopwith Camel I finished a few months ago for reference:

so much masking tape

I will be building this with full-length fixed LE slats and "junker" style flaps & ailerons, and I might experiment with some flaperon mixing once I've flown it a few times.

The primary build plans I'll be using can be found here if anyone's interested:

I will probably be referencing other plans as well during the build since those Svenson kit plans are kinda incomplete.

Tentative specs:

Wingspan: 80.14 in (2036 mm)
Length: 55.7 in (1415 mm)
Height: 17.5 in (445 mm)
Wing Area: 820 sqin (52.9 dm^2)
All-Up Weight: 81 oz (2296g)
Powerplant: 1 x 636W (@12x6 Xoar) BL motor, 2x 2200mAh 4S
WCL: 6
Power/Weight: 125W/lb (277W/kg)
Flight Time: 15 minutes

That's all for now!
