Attention all USA FPV enthusiasts

#1
i just had a very interesting conversation with an employee at my local hobby shop. We were talking about all topics rc when the subject of FPV came up. He told me that the State Police drop by a few times a year and inquire about customers asking about FPV. He stated while it isn't illegal the Department of Homeland Security has been compiling a database of all FPV and potential FPV users. I don't know how true all this is but thought I should share it with all of you. I really don't care what the government thinks about my interest in FPV because I am honest and have nothing to hide. I just wanted to let every one know.

With all the bushfires around Australia at the moment, I can't help but think us FPVers could be put to good use like the HAM radio network does... 'Legitimise' the activity through serving it....

The hammer yet falleth. Interesting timing on your forum post, I just wrote an article last night regarding such issues that I believe was posted today under the fpv tab "FPV Rebels???". I suspect the fpv community may be in for a rude awakening in the next few years.

All "Sheeple" will be in for a rude awakening. Executive Order #11470 will establish Emperor Obama in a never ending rule over the Socialist Democracy of the United States of America. What Abraham Lincoln ended with the stroke of a pen will return for all subjects of the Emperor! Time is now very short indeed. The USA as it has been is gone forever. Welcome to subjugation.:(
Thank God that my family line ends when I die. I would not want my children (if I had any) to suffer what is coming.

OK enough politics. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! ;)

He also stated a few years ago the AMA had a heated court battle with the Department of Homeland Security over the size of model planes. They were pushing for anything to be banned Bigger than a 25 size model. Again I don't know how true all of this is.

Its not Obama alone. Its truly the manifestation of the movie, Idiocracy, in our elected officials. I don't fear the executive branch nearly as much as the legislative branch. Republican, Democrat... Doesn't make a damn bit of difference. The vast majority of both are bought and paid for by those with deep pockets. No one represents true Americans, anymore.

Blech - enough politics.

Ok, I will post this clip. I wish I could show this in class. Maybe I will. My students are so arrogant and entitled and have nothing backing that. Zero, zip, nada. Zero point zero. No exaggeration.

I saw the video a couple days ago and thought it was very honest indeed.
Scary too, because as we say up here north of your border, if the USA sneezes, we get a cold.
FPV up here is not too much an issue unless you fly at a MAAC field (they get all huffy and such) here. The guys I have talked to were more worried that we were flying with old 72hz radios as opposed to what the video frequencies were.

I have it on high authority that the list being compiled is for potential homeland security recruitment purposes only. American FPV flyers are only honest people having a good time after working 40-70 hours per week to afford the American dream! You are on the list.. When they call. It is your duty to use your fpv skill to defend America! American Minutemen Fpv Defenders!

I wish I didn't agree with this so much. I'm proud of where I live, and I'm proud of the people that fight for this country, but I am ashamed that we do so little as a whole to better it. As I say this however, I know I'm part of the problem, I have to find a way to help be part of the solution.

And he (Jeff Daniels) doesn't look so dumb any more, does he?
- somebody elses words. You must always remember that those are someone else words PLUS they are someone elses idea of what they think someone in his shoes would say. Like Superman who dresses like us but isn't one of us. There are kernels of truths in there, and uni-form jabs at party politics, but there are also clues in there as well. Somebody may have truthfully wanted to bare their soul through this character but I gave up learning political views from movies when I was about that young actresses age.

It is also a popular position to run down our own country right now. America Sucks! tell me you didn't hear that all summer last year with a bunch of unwashed, raping, killing, hippy wanna be (save the rape and killing, I don't like hippies but they weren't criminals) plopping down in all their month long protest. So you want to make a movie and try to get your name on a little statue? You try to imitate a concerned citizen and point out how bad we are. Some of the stats are skewed by the way. I remember a specific talk on infant mortality that we aren't on top of and it was our classification. We run infant mortality deaths out to 5 years old, the top countries stop counting after the baby is born. It skews the results. Then you compare diversity in wage and population. Some of these results are thrown off simply because we have more babies born in the back of taxis then they have in hospitals. Our math and science scores are terrible but then we try to educate everyone up to grade 12 and other countries realize there are ditch diggers out there and boot em. I watched the disparity between what the University of Nottingham requires of their students for entry and what we put out, but then I have a co-worker who's son would fit right in and has a full scholarship in Minnesota and has already been talking to Berkly about grad work, he's a Freshman.
Chiefly though, we still are a melting pot. We take in mass populations from other countries each year and they aren't all escaped Nazi Rocket Scientists. There not all mental midgets either but you have people learning a language and a culture and adding to our culture hopefully with the good portions of theirs.

But it's easier and more profitable to say "America Sucks". Yea, easy. I'm going to side with Jackie Chan on this. Jackie wasn't saying we're a bad country, like what was spun last week. Jackie was saying that HE, as a representative of China on foreign soil wasn't going to air dirty laundry in front of other folks. Does China have a corrupt government? How pure is yours? Jackie was saying he is going to be Pro His Country and try to show the positive sides to the world.

I'm pro that.

Now, can we keep off politics on this multi-national board and talk about aircraft like we're supposed to?

If you can fly FPV, you can almost instantly learn how to fly a drone/plane! But they will also be checking on you if there is an FPV bomb attack nearby your place...

About the clip from earth,

America is not one of the greatest countries because they do allot of questionable things in the middle east. For example the Iran situation the only reason why America is at "war" with Iran is because they want the Iranian oil. Iran has made offers to normalize the relationship between them and the west but America declined. Why did they decline? Because of the oil. If you want to know more about this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8Jg41szSg4

The bread prices in Iran are now 3 times higher then before, because of the sanctions.
