Left motor is a blue wonder wound 14 turns 26g wire. Right is stock.

14t 26: 8x4.3 prop, 8.4 amps 11.12 volts.

Off topic, does any one know of a really precise way to measure Resistance in these little motors? I want to run some calculations on them, but my Volt meter only goes down to tenths, not hundredths.

Very nice work! I have two that I need to rewind. Need to do some research and learn how to do it.

Honestly, rewinding a motor isn't cost effective if you factor in the time it takes. I do it simply because I can. Its something done out of curiousness more than anything.

ABC 4x.
For me it is cost effective, I had a burnt out blue wonder, now I have a working blue wonder for about eh, 65 cents.

Sorry if that came out a little blunt. My apologies.

I can't afford much more than the basic CF 28xx motors, so for me, rewinding is a very cost effective way to repair damaged motors.

nice work, a little detail would be nice, i.e. where to get the special wire, and the diagram and directions to do this, I don't have bad winding on my motor but as I continue to fly and crash someday I'll bust a wire. right now I have a slight bend in my motor shaft with gives me a tiny little vibration. I need to replace the shaft and bearing before I continue to do more damage to it. Do you know the shaft length and bearing sizes. Ive done a little research on line and on headsuphobby.com and there blue wonder motors have a 3mx42m shaft and 3x7x3 bearings. I am hoping the lazertoyz 2712-12 1300kv motor has the same parts so I can get a move on this.

I partly rewound one of my 24g blue wonders from HK when I broke a winding. I only rewound the one winding that broke and just replicated the pattern that I took off.

I don't remember the wire gauge...I just measured what was on there and found a roll of magnet wire I had on hand that matched. It was probably 26ga based on the fact that I used the green wire from this:

Motor worked just fine and kept my quad in the air while I waited for replacement motors to be shipped. (which then sat for awhile until I broke something else.)

I now order my wire from Tech Fixx on EBay.
I'm slowly working on a tutorial, but I ran into some issues as I got rusty and started making some newbie mistakes.
This page is infinitely useful: http://forumrc.alexba.eu/nutpol_e.htm

For the BW just
1. Wind one tooth clockwise, move over 90 degrees and repeat until you have four teeth 90 degrees apart wound the same direction.
2. Trim the wire about 2" from the ends of the winds.
3. move one tooth to the right of the tooth you first wound, and repeat 1 and 2.
4. Move one more tooth right, and repeat 1 and 2.

I hope this helps, and after I work out my rewind bugs I'll post my article/post.
