FTFC25: Build-ruary by @AgentC (Build Skill: 3.5 Skilled, Pilot SKill: 1.5 (Crashing all the time)

1. EZ Domino's Plank - @BadAir's thread is looking for Pizza box EZ plane options. I'm going basic and testing out the Plank with a Domino's pizza box instead of foamboard.
2. EZ Sparrow - Going to update my design to see how I can get it working best with the v2 Power Pack. And then potentially have a skin made for it. Based off the FT Mighty Mini Sparrow.
3. EZ Glider, based on a micro version of the Wonder Glider. I made one for the 3-channel years back, but need to rework this to get it balanced properly for the 2-channel EZ pack.
4. One or more of the FT EZ Fantasy Pack, with plans from the FTCA resources.
5. Bonus Builds, if time permits:
   EZ Flerken - Create an EZ version of the FT Nano Flerken.
   or
   EZ Legacy - Create an EZ version of the FT Legacy
   or
   FT Mighty Mini Explorer, with plans from the FTCA resources.

EZ Domino's Plank

Prep Work: Parts traced and cut out from an old Domino's box.

Feb 01, 2025:
Built the EZ Pizza Plank:

Used superglue for the wing dihedral:


Used 3M Super 77 for the doubler, but craft/wood/super glue would work just as well. I wouldn't use hot glue, it's just too heavy.


Inserted the wing and used superglue where the wing met the fuselage. I also have some brown packaging paper tape, so used some of that, too.


Added the Power Pack (v2)


Build complete!


All up weight: 56g


Maiden Flight:

MAIDEN SUCCESS!

To do: I'm going to adapt the plans to make them simpler and the right size for cardboard/pizza box thickness. This will make the EZ series available to more than just us in North America where foam board is easily accessible.



February 15, 2025:
Using the updated plans I created, I've cut out a new version. Have the corrugation in the direction of flight for the wings, hoping for a even more floaty experience, and diagonal for the fuselage for added strength. I also have the decorated/printed side of the wings placed for the underside this time.


February 19, 2025:
Made the plane and got to test it out quickly in the snow today.

It doesn't need the ailerons/deflection in the wing, so I have removed those from the plans.

February 21, 2025:
- Built and decorated the FT EZ Pheonix. Was a fun build, I like the floppy tail.


Inserted the electronics.

Will maiden when the wind dies down!
