Connectors

Like others mentioned here, I'm an EC3/EC5 fan. You solder the wires to the pins before inserting them into the plastic housing. So there is no chance of overheating and it makes it easier to solder one pin at a time while the other one is safely covered. Solder one, push it into the housing until it clicks. Then solder the other lead. No heat shrink to mess with either. All solder joints are hidden in the housing. I'm not sure why everybody loves XT60 so much for this reason. Plus when ordered from HK they are cheaper than XT60. XT60 are fantastic connectors, don't get me wrong. Just more to worry about and more steps to go through just to install them.

I will admit, it is painful to get a brand new battery from HK just to chop off the connector and solder on new ones.

I should also mention, EC3 come on all Horizon products, and are readily available in your local hobby shop if you need some in a hurry.
