Duet Binding?

I just bought a Hobbyzone Duet RTF for my dad( I wanted to buy him a Spacewalker but that got discontinued) and one of the only bad things I noticed just out of the box was this dinky little 3 channel transmitter. It looks small enough to give your hands cramps after flying a little while. My question is this: is there a way I can bind my Spektrum DXe to the Duet even though it is the RTF version and not BNF?

Yeah, so sad. There was a big sale on them pretty much everywhere and then poof, they were gone

Unfortunately no, the Duet won't bind to a DSM2/DSMX transmitter. I wasn't able to get my Duet to bind to anything other than it's own transmitter, and haven't seen where anyone else was able to do it either.

As the story goes (but I haven't seen direct confirmation) in order to keep the price as low as possible, the company didn't want to pay the licensing fees to use the Specktum radio protocols on this model.

I haven't had an issue with mine hurting my hands. It has been a decent TX, I have had mine for 2+ years.

Yes the duet was my first plane last year, and the Tx seemed to be fine.....
