Wake up! Time to fly!
wish I could get that far, it wont connect to the quad so I cant even try a re flash, opens port and closes port after not finding configuration, wonder if the cable itself has an issue?? tried my usb cable from galaxy tablet, but its only a charging cable so I doubt it can do the job???

I had 4 different mini usb cables here and none matched my FC. I ended up taking it to walmart and we had to open 3 boxes to find the right "Universal charging cable" Once I did that I logged right into the FC. If I read correctly you have already connected before so I don't think cabling is the issue.

I wonder if your USB connector may have cracked a connection. I've heard of some of these having poor soldering on the USB plugs making them easy to break. If you've lost a trace on the plug that could cause what you're experiencing. It's possible to reflow the solder on them, but if you've never done that kind of work before it's not a good place to try it for the first time :)

I sent it back, and they said the board was bricked , but they jumped the boot pins and reconfigured it, should be flying in a few days

Try putting a jumper on the boot loader pins on naze32. Cleanflight welcome screen tells you procedure.
It worked for me.

i tried jumping it, no success, but it came back ready to be configured and am flying it now quite steadily and like it, time to turn up the agility a bit now. I ended up using luxfloat values copie4d from you tube, but its a bit mellow
