I originally planned to make this for the Barnstormer challenge but it does not look like I will make it to FliteFest 2023 after all. I have a larger balsa version of this one as well and although not a perfect fit for the Barnstormer challenge I felt it had the spirit of the age.

Cool. A nice, design with a lot of that Air Race aesthetic.
I think it could look pretty good if you added a cowling that covered the motor. Something like a cowl for a radial engine, but made boxy to match the rest of the plane's look.
