it was a cool idea, but in the end Vought made the Corsair which could run down the Kamikazees AND Japan just ran out of pilots and planes so an aircraft that could go out and hover in wait wasn't needed anymore. That and the really aggressive military version never quite got the counter-rotating prop issue solved AND the inter engine transmission needed for "safety".
