You might look through the plans from 13thSquadron, also. They have about 16 smooth curve designs.

My first MS style build was the FT Mini Corsair. It was a fun build and challenging while still easy enough for a guy who had half a dozen "simple" box fuse builds under his belt. Not mention the fact the plane looks fantastic when completed. There are also great build videos on YouTube.
