Ok so I've desided to build a 250 class quad copter for my first quad copter. I have a few builds I've come up with and the peramiters I'm trying to stick to are these:

  • Under $200usd "better the closer to $100 it is"
Able to upgrade to a fpv quad in the futer.
250 ish size to fly in the large areas of my building.
Tell me withch build You think I sould go with

    1) banggood kit :http://www.banggood.com/QAV250-Carbon-Fiber-ARF-Combo-EMAX-MT2204-12A-ESC-CC3D-p-965217.html With and elctro hub for the frame. $154.00

    2) Cheaper bangood kit: http://www.banggood.com/QAV250-Pro-...otor-Simonk-12A-ESC-CC3D-GF5030-p-977326.html $110.00

I have a few builds I've come up with but it's about like the #2 build comes out to about $109, but it's not that nice.
I would by extra arms and props with all of this, I also have a TX and RX, batterys, and sodering gear.
If you know a build I could by thats around the same price but I don't have to wait 20ish days to get the part's that would be great to, I'm willing to pay a bit more if I don't have to wait.

Tell me what you think, Thanks.

i paid 139.00 for my zmr 250 carbon kit. it came with Emax 1806, 12A Emax Simon Sires ESC, CC3D FC with plastic hard case, Xt60 and +- silicone wires and two sets of 5" props i use 6" tho.

if i had to do it again, id buy the same brands in a kit, but i would be sure to get 2204 Emax motors instead of the small 1806s.. but i had no clue.. so may as well go with the larger mini quad size motors up front.. or you will end up just spending 50.00 on another set of emax 2204s if you had 1806.

as for eletrohub . really its gonna come down to size.. and do you want a carbon mini quad type frame or the eletrohub.. only you can answer that. i would pay a little bit more to at least get emax motors over the generic gold DYs..

I feel the same way my next quad will have 2204's instead of 1806's, then my quad with 1806's will be relegated to my kids, to teach them to fly.

that is the one i would go with if that is the frame you like out of the ones you posted.. you wont have to upgrade the motors with that one. my next build i will be using emax 2204. so you are ahead of the game going with the larger motors up front. i paid about the same mine did not come with a battery charger or a battery tho, and 1806s as i did not know any better or i would of paid the same money for the larger motors... duh.. silly company's taking advantage of us noobs by not even mention such in there adds.. so i wnt with XT-60 so i can run turnigy nano batterys with out having to modify anything.

this is the zmr frame i went with..

not from this guy.. but same kit tho.. 1806 etc..
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-250-Ca...d=100010&rk=2&rkt=20&mehot=pp&sd=171727264918

then i went with a 15.00 ZMR 12mm 3d printer riser kit. and im running 6" props. my next build will be 2204 tho emax motors. i think this christmas i will be building two more of these ZMR kits for my brother, and brother in law. fun christmas gifts i think for a fair price..

i also went with much longer m3 screws to hold the plates down.. since that is the weak link.. as my kit came with like 1/4" long m3 screws which in a hard crash could sheer, so i upgraded to longer m3 screws to about 3/4" long.

That kit looks great but I was thinking of going with the bang good one with the larger engines. I'm not planning on doing racing with it just exploring would the lower power engines from the ebay build work fine for me?

you would be fine with 1806s. the ones i have run fine. i got a good deal on emax 2204 practically free with ESC. i did have to by a single 2204/ESC so i could have a set of 4 when i originally took them i was gonna just build a tri-copter, but then i decided id save some money on my next build.. so that is why im using them on my next build. if i had to pay full price for motors, i was trying to score some Cobra 2204 19XXXkv, but i basically have given up on getting any of them, as soon as they are in stock they sell out.. seems Cobra have the reputation of being the best high performance motors in the hobby right now.. it use to be sunny sky held this title till they had some growing pains, and started putting out a inferior product to meet demand, new warehouse etc. growing pains. i figure by now they have had time to fix such growing pains.. but in this hobby once you fall getting back on top cold be a rough one.. anyhow, i have decided to save money and just use what i have now for my next build. and use the 200.00 i would spend on motors/ESC for FPV gear.. so i ordered a set of cheap hobby king FPV goggles V2 last night. and will probably take some photos and start a build thread tomorrow as it looks like rain again for tomorrow ..

so yeah in short i think you would be ok with that kit. at least its state side too. :p and you can get 5mm upgraded carbon arms for them too for 12.00 for a pair.. i would not bother with such upgrades till you broke arm tho.. i do not see 5mm arms breaking any time soon.. my next build comes with 5mm thug arms :D
it also comes with a protective case for the CC3D the other kit did not show, so it could have or maybe not. i personally like the protective cases. also you may want to do a 250 mini kit in ebay and check out all the kits that pop up. :D just so you know whats out there if anything, and get a idea how the kits are put together etc,

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk....H0.X+250+kit.TRS0&_nkw=+250+kit&_sacat=34056

250 mini kit brought up all them, and zrm 250 kit brought up these.. and of course frame:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...RC6.A0.H0.Xframe.TRS2&_nkw=frame&_sacat=34056

this mini quad is billion dollar business.. nuts how much money is being made off these flying humming birds :D

rob is the guy i bought my 3d printed parts for the ZMR frame.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ZMR-250-12m...8&pid=100005&rk=4&rkt=6&sd=191568106228&rt=nc

he lives in gilbert, az. he seemed like a nice guy.

here are the upgraded 5mm ZMR 250 quad arms in case you ever have to replace a arm.. may as well upgrade from 3mm to 5mm.. if you can break a 3mm.

you can get ZMR PDB boards to that have all the bells and whistles built in that bolt right up to the zmr carbon frame.. if one would want to go that way.
