I’m fairly new to the forum, and thought I’d add a bit here after the fact.
I have yet to need to solder away from my workbench, so my unit is a Weller WES-50 that I have used for around 30 years or so. It has been far more reliable than I have been at soldering. Especially on those pesky heavier 4S battery leads that power my 8th scale cars.
I have been in cars since the late 80’s, which is why I went the station route.
I picked it up from Radio Shack when they still carried electronic components lol
