I have been wanting a Pietenpol since I first saw one that my flight instructor had back in the 80s. When I saw the the air camper Flite Test had and that I could download plans I just had to do it. Flite Test has been great help with my endeavors and I have been getting much of my supplies from them lately. I even got their awesome hot glue gun that's a huge improvement on the ones I have in my shop.
I enlarged the plans in Photoshop and sent them in Lightburn where I traced them to vector drawings and started laser cutting the Flite Test foam board. It's a blue laser so I just cut through paper. It was easy after that to cut through the foam accurately.
I started the fuse Thursday and by today I had the whole fuse assembled. This will fly on 4 s. 70 inch span with a removeable wing for transporting.
I'm doing a modern version with a Cub style nose and cylinder heads I'll 3D print at my studio. This is so much fun!
I recently built their large Jenny. It was fun to build and it flew awesome.
