So sorry for the delay folks but I was back logged with work. So after a long time here is my first attempt to fly one of my drones solo. Still not FPV but you have to start somewhere . Any tips will be very much welcome…
Lots of flying. It gets easier every time you fly. You may have to replace props and gear occasionally. This is normal learning process. If you can find people to fly with, that can be helpful too. I have mixed feelings about sims. I didn't find them useful for FPV, but very helpful for line of site.
Alright so I haven't updated here in a long time so here is an update. Seems like most of the stuff I got isn't worth much. Trying to make the best of it I got two drones in somewhat flying condition, however I don't really get to fly them at all. I kinda feel discouraged, feeling like my equipement ain't all that good as well as my skills. I can fly around just fine but when I come in to a landing thats where things start becoming ugly and dangerous.

I ALWAYS wear long pants. That way if I fly into my legs, there is an extra layer of protection. Only happened once. Jeans were cut up a bit
Legs were only bruised.
Practice, practice, practice.
Use a switch for arming that is easy to get to so you can disarm and let the drone drop if things are getting hairy. Better to break a prop or two than cause mayhem or injury.
I land basically in 2 stages.
1- Approach, reduce throttle 'til near runway, hold throttle at landing speed.
2- Maintain throttle, touch down, when gear settles reduce throttle to a stop.
