There is only one type of foamboard, that’s a foam core with a paper outer layer. There’s US lightweight type stuff and rest of the world heavy. The Explorer can be built in heavy 5mm board. You just need a slightly bigger motor and have to watch where the CG ends up. If you are building the Explorer the plans are on the FT pages.
Building is the way to learn about how you need to adapt a design to suit local materials.

So to begin the fixed-wing uav build, the best one is to begin with an FT Explorer, right?

I would, since you can use the Explorer to learn to fly line of sight first, which you need to do to be a safe pilot, as people mentioned in your thread about the Skywalker.
