3D printing scratchbuilds
This coming school year, a couple of us ROTC cadets are setting up an RC aircraft club through the ROTC program. The goal is to have fun, teach the kids how to fly remote control aircraft, learn basic fundamentals of flight, and to have the cadets build their own planes that they can be proud of. We will be meeting twice every week for two hours after school. One day a week (weather permitting) we will be flying our club aircraft and/or simulators. The other day will be more of an educational day where we teach them basics of flight and the basics of RC aircraft. Later on in the school year, there will be design challenges such as smallest plane, fastest plane, etc. where the kids will be put into small groups and these small groups will develop a plane within given constraints. Due to the winters here in North Dakota being a little nasty for RC flying, we will be doing a good amount of indoor flying with helis and small aircraft. To start this club up, we need to have at least 15 kids signed up out of 130 kids in the program otherwise the program won't be started. With that being said, do any of you have any suggestions that would make the club take off? (pardon the pun)
Anyways, thanks guys
