Polaris, FT mini style

I have been a big fan of Steve Shumate's designs and decided to try a conversion of his Polaris to DTFB foam. I only had 5g servos and a 2205 old quad motor so I decided to shrink it down a little bit (might not have been enough). I enlarged the pod a bit so it will take a regular FT mini power pod with no thrust angle. The required down thrust is built into the vertical mount for the pod.

Just a little cleanup to do for the rudder servo, magnet for the hatch, and some tape to protect the bottom. No water to fly off so I made life easy and kept the servos external and easily accessible. Also needs a nose.

I kept the servos external so probably a no go on snow. If I were to lower the wing a little servos could go inside.

Hand launch no problem. Also took off from the ground using the rudder for steering. Need to clean up plans and then will post.

The two pieces in your hand go on the outside of the piece on the plane. The piece on the plane should be in the middle. The end result is a V stab that is three sheets of foam thick.

Correct up front lines up so the piece is three pieces of foam thick in the front. Before you glue this build the top nacelle so you can place the servo and run the wires through the notch in the middle piece.
