Scratch build... an F16/35 looking thing...

Well, I intended on scratch building an F16 using my 40mm EDF. However when it came time to put the turtle deck and canopy together, this top worked best. So, this thing now looks like a cross between an F16 and an F35. The elevators fully move too. I used wire and fed it through the control horn then bent the wire in a few directions. Glued the elevators onto that system an here ya go. An odd looking bird but should cruise pretty good and be airobatic. I have to put ailerons and wires and a canopy and she's done.
Also, this was a 2 day build so far and 1.5 sheets of foam board.

Some updates for day 3 build. Just need the control wires and she's done. Hope it's fast and aerobatic. Also, I cut the rudder down a little.

So, turns out I may have had some upward direction on the thrust tube. Crashed it. Repaired the nose and put a new thrust section on the back to see if I can correct it before I cut it up and trying again for an F16... Hope it flys this afternoon...

Maybe it was tail heavy? Every EDF I have flown needs to be obnoxiously nose heavy to feel stable.
Ya, could be. But it was a 40mm EDF. Very light but very powerful. I think when I constructed the bottom/intake motor section, the back took a small upward angle. Maybe 2-3 degrees. That's enough to make if flip over and over and never fly... well, I did learn from it so all's good... ;)

yep, probably right. I have a 50mm f-35 that balances just past the front of the wings to fly well, haha.
